MAJLIS MUHIBAH CNY BY PERKIM

TBMRA was invited by Perkim, Kepong Barat branch to assist in organising its first CNY function hoping to reach out to the Chinese community in the garden.

Whilst Perkim had previous experience in organising similar events for non-Muslim, the anxiety this time around was caused by the recent Perkasa event, so in assuring us they will do their best Perkim actually assured us that they fully respect the Chinese culture and furthermore they would not wish to see anything counter-productive to what they set up to do.

It turned out to be a very successful event, the atmosphere was so fantastic that the crowd quite forgot about the hot sun in lining up for the food, rushing for the angpow including the cash sprinkled down by the performer of the lion dance on pole. Whilst a group of the children was enjoying thier telematch the other group was struggling to beat each other in the Chinese chess.

TBMRA set up an information booth hoping to generate stronger interest in our activities, but certainly the pull of the angpow & food by Perkim; the excitement of the Chinese chess competition were certainly too much for us to match.

Expalining to the DPM what is the core issue of our appeal

Emphasising the precedence of a Federal Court case, in which the Land Office (WP) was involved

YAB Tan Sri had accepted our memorandum of appeal
TBMRA has prepared a memorandum to appeal to the government to consider reverting the nature of our title deed from presently leasehold to freehold status.

We therefore were excited by the news that the DPM, YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin shall come to the Taman.

With some assistance from Datuk Kamaruddin (the man in white jacket between the DPM and our chairman) Mr Ng managed to have a short chat with the DPM before handed him the memo.
